چکیده

Abstract Background Vetiver grass ( Chrysopogon zizanioides L. Roberty) is one of the most studied and applied species in soil bioengineering techniques all over world, but there are technical information related to its root system deserving a better comprehension provided by different methodologies’. The objective this work was evaluate through methodologies. trench method evaluated 50 images 10 × cm squares vertical face. volumetric ring uses metallic with volume 3 (diameter ≅ 4.6 height 3.0 cm) collect samples same trench’s A hand auger hole worked roots removed from surface up 0.50 m depth. monolith comprises wide, long, 1 deep monolith. spatial correlation between area observed kriging maps method. Results values for both were similar, 0.10 0.20 m. On analyzed variables, showed best coefficient among methods, especially those that use limited distribution sampling collection, such as (r = 0.526, p < 0.05). Conclusions methods can be separated groups, provide more detailed on behavior system, like describe morphological characteristics features, Both require greater coverage, therefore have precision.

Nutritional and Antinutritional Components of Vetiver Grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides L. Roberty) at Different Stages of Growth

Vetiver grass was harvested at 4, 6 and 8-week old re-growth. The chemical composition and quantitative analyses of anti-nutritional components were determined. The result showed that dry matter and fiber content increased with age while crude protein, mineral content and anti-nutritional components reduced with age. It was concluded that age of re-growth significantly affect the nutrient and a...

Chemical composition and biological properties of Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty syn. Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash- A Review

Vetiver [Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty syn. Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash] commonly known as khas-khas, khas, khus-khus or khus grass belongs to the family Poaceae. The roots of this grass on steam distillation yield an essential oil mainly consisting of sesquiterpenes (3-4 %), sesquiterpenols (18-25 %) and sesquiterpenones (7-8 %). Among these, the major economically important active ...
